We celebrated our 6th anniversary last Thursday. Daniel took the day off and we spent a fun day together. Friday was a holiday, Unification Day, so we usually celebrate our anniversary for 2 days every year (and it's kind of fitting, too, since we got married and sealed on the October 2, and had the big reception and celebration the next day, on the 3rd). Friday we got up early (courtesy of our own, customized alarm clock, Flynn) and went on a hike in an area close by, which we hadn't explored on foot before. The day started out with heavy fog. It didn't lift until around noon. But it's fun, I love fog. When you walk while it's foggy, everything sounds slightly different, muted and more distant. It swallows sounds, sight and light. The sun tried hard but never came through completely, and only when we reached the car it was sunny with blue skies. It's great to see the ever changing, morphing light. It is a little magical, elusive, and you can never quite catch it on the camera just so. But we took many pictures anyway. Living in the country makes all the seasons so much more immediate. You see, feel and smell the changes in the seasons so much stronger. That's my favorite thing I love about living here.
Enjoy some impressions of early Fall:
