What´s up, Pussycat?

How I love my little cat. She´s been my little sister and old friend since the first years of elementary school when she came to us as a kitten and we fed her. Eventually she stayed with our family for good, and even dad got used to her with his cat allergies. Thanks, dad! ;)
She´s old and deaf now, with a tumor in her ear and slight rheumatism. But she still catches a mouse every once in a while and she loves that spot on my parents´ balcony where she can lie in the sun and get her fur all warmed up. The best thing is when she purrs. Live is heaven then. When one of us kids was sick, she used to hop on our belly or wherever else it hurt and just start purring. And she was never the cuddly kind of cat. But she felt when we were sad or sick and took care of us. Mom called her 'The Nurse' then ;). And although this blog entry sounds like the eulogy, it really is just remembering the good old days when I lived with pets. She´s still doing good for her old age and it was good to cuddle up with her again when we were home last weekend.
