Abby Time!

"Oh yes, that´s MY car now... parents sit in the back!"

We were able to visit Stephi and Evelyn at the hospital in Erlangen, while we stayed at my parents´ house for the weekend. She is recovering quickly and getting stronger.

Dani didn´t have to work on Monday, so instead of going home to unpack boxes and build furniture, we decided to stay a bit longer and babysit Abby, so Martin could go to work. It turned out to be the day when Evelyn was released from the hospital as well, so that was great. We got to see Stephi, Martin and Evie when they arrived at home in the evening. And after weeks of not seeing mommy for a long time, Abby was so excited and hugged and hugged her mom when they finally arrived. We had stayed the night and in the morning after breakfast, Abby wanted to watch her favorite show (aside from 'Sendung mit der Maus'): Timmy. So we watched some TV, played, were shown ALL her toys, had nap time and ate lunch together. The best part was going to the playground with her, which she tries to always call by the German name and it sounds like something like 'Spielspatz'. It may sound cruel but I hope she´ll never say it right because it sounds so much cuter the way she says it. I also love hearing her say 'Daanieldaanieldaaniel!' when she´s excited or when she calls the two of us (since she somehow has it in her brain that neither one ever shows up without the oter): 'Danikrissie'!
My husband is a genius  - he noticed the resemblance first and he is totally right! Abby IS Edith,
from "Despicable Me". She wanted to wear her wooly hat to the playground...

So off to the playground we went and she had a blast! Needless to say, by the time we arrived at our new home, we were completely exhausted. How do parents do it? What I hear a lot is that it is overwhelming at first but then you don´t notice it much anymore. Somehow, after birth you are given super-hero-mom-genes in the package by nature. I am counting on that!
Why walk when you can run and bounce?!
