This week, Dani was on leave and so we were able to spend the whole week together, taking day trips and traveling. Although this summer has been really cold and wet, Tuesday was sunny and warm like a spring day, and so we decided to hop in the car and head south for the day, back to Bavaria and into the mountains for walks, hikes and the scenery. After a 2 hour drive, we arrived at Forggensee, a beautiful mountain lake not far from
Neuschwanstein Castle. We had luch at a cute restaurant right on the lake shore (Schnitzel, yesss!) and spent some time at the lake before we headed deeper into the mountains to hike. We took a trail that led us through a winding gorge and on to a mountain ridge. We stopped at one of the traditional cabin inns for cake and then headed back downhill. Dani wanted to take the scenic route home and we stopped at a waterfall on the way home (and McDonald´s... somebody whose name we won´t mention here loves eating to make the ride home appear less boring...*cough, cough*). We arrived late at night, tired but happy! I love Dani-Dates :)!
